Transport Network 21 Anderson is approximately 900 m away from Stevens MRT Interchange Station which operates the MRT Downtown MRT Line. This mid-capacity MRT Service Line is the 5th MRT service line to be into service in Singapore. The MRT Line is approximately 42 km in length and serving 34 MRT Stations which all of them are fully underground. This MRT Line runs generally from the West to the East region of Singapore. It connects from northwestern town, Bukit Panjang via the downtown core, to the eastern town of Tampines and eastern business park, Singapore Expo.
The route of the MRT Downtown Line starts from the Bukit Panjang MRT Station and heads in the direction of Southeast, running alongside of the Upper Bukit Timah Region and the canal of Bukit Timah estate. It then proceeds to the Central region which requires passing through the Little India MRT Station and Bugis MRT Station before it enters into the downtown financial district. At the Promenade MRT Station and the Bayfront MRT Station, this MRT Line will interchange with the MRT Circle Line. Proceeding towards downtown centre, this line then proceeds to the Chinatown MRT Station which it will intersect with the MRT North East Line. The line will then runs in the direction of northeast and beneath Singapore River. The MRT line will intersects itself between Bencoolen MRT Station and Jalan Besar MRT Station. It then continues toward Geylang Bahru MRT Station and generally in the direction of east via the Kampong Ubi and Kaki Bukit industrial estates before reaching the Tampines Region Centre. At Tampines Central, it moves in the direction of south and terminates at the Expo MRT Interchange Station located in Changi Business Park.
The Stevens MRT Interchange Station will also host the new MRT Thomson East Coast Line which started its operation in 2019. Future residents will be able to travel on this new MRT station straight to the Shenton Way MRT Station and also towards the Woodlands North MRT Terminus Station which is also the terminus station for the upcoming Singapore-Johor Bahru Rapid Transit System.

The MRT Line starts its journey from the northern town of Woodlands and heads south along the boundary of the Central Water Catchment area, reaching the Springleaf, Lentor and Mayflower estates which are on the northern part of the Water Catchment area. It then proceed toward the north east region, arriving at Upper Thomson before passing through the prime private residential district of Stevens and Napier.
The line continues towards the Central Area passing through Orchard, Great World before going to the downtown financial district of Shenton Way and Marina Bay. The MRT line continues to move in a general east direction, running parallel to East Coast Park to pass through the premium waterfront estates of Tanjong Katong, Marine Parade and Siglap. It continues its east bound direction to Bedok South before terminating at Sungei Bedok. This MRT Line will further extend in the future beyond the current Changi Airport MRT Station to reach the further eastern tip of the island to the up and coming Changi Airport Terminal 5.
